With a focus on UX/UI Design and concurrent roles as a part-time Graphic Designer and illustrator, I specialize in creating seamless experiences informed by empathy. I've had the opportunity to work across a diverse range of industries, including healthcare, telecommunications, finance, legal services, media, education, retail, insurance, property, and lifestyle sectors. Within these industries, I've gained extensive experience in establishing and managing design systems.
This breadth of experience has provided me with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and user needs that exist within each industry. It has also honed my ability to create adaptable and scalable design solutions that align with the specific goals and requirements of various businesses and their audiences.

Graphic Design
I derive satisfaction from partnering with companies to build brands that make a positive impact on society.
I am intrigued by the intricacies that extend beyond mere 'design'. I have a keen fascination with elements such as paper quality, binding techniques, and embossing, and how they elevate the overall design aesthetic.
Illustration, sketching, painting
I take pleasure in creating digital illustrations primarily as a hobby, yet seamlessly integrate them into both graphic and UI design when needed. Sketching and painting serve as my midnight delights.
career
I pursued a Communication Design degree at the University of Johannesburg from 2016 to 2018. During this time, I engaged in various freelance projects and gained experience at a boutique design agency specializing in branding, website development, and print media.
Upon completing my degree, I realized that a career in UX/UI Design resonated deeply with my interests. While I cherish creativity, I am particularly drawn to work that holds significance, impacting people's lives or perceptions—an aspect that fuels my enthusiasm every day.
Shortly after graduation, I received recognition with a Loerie award and emerged victorious in the Global Citizen poster competition. Embarking on my journey, I commenced my UX/UI career at Retro Rabbit, where I contracted for Discovery. Subsequently, I transitioned to a full-time role at Discovery Health after a year. Presently, I contribute my expertise to Lucky Beard, specializing in UI Design.

Skills and software proficiency
Creative skills
UI Design
I have been working in UI for the past 5 years. UI Design is my speciality. Im a fully fledged Ui designer and am able to confidently present work, create components, set up and manage design systems, am good at prototyping with interactions and am very detail orientated when it comes to designs themselves as well as organisation of files.
UX Design
I completed two years worth of full UX work prior to shifting my focus mainly to UI. I have experience with research, various forms of user testing, setting up information architecture, analysing existing websites and apps, have run a few UX workshops and a have done wireframing.
Motion graphics
I have a special admiration for animation and can do simple animations and illustrations that enhance user interfaces. I'm not fully proficient in creating full on videos but am eager to delve into animation more.
Development
I have basic knowledge on development structures and am familiar with HTML and CSS, this allows me to effectively analyse live designs, check code where necessary and communicate with developers effectively. I have 3 years worth of experience in setting up WordPress sites and am able to do basic customisation.
Graphic design
I studied graphic design and enjoy branding. I have two years worth of basic industry experience in graphic design and have done multiple presentations, branding, editorial etc.. I enjoy print design and have a special appreciation for paper, binding techniques and embossing. For a few months while studying I had the privilege of playing around in an old type factory.
Illustration
I am capable of doing basic vector illustrations but not confident in creating vector illustrations from scratch. I have always loved sketching and painting my own art and have started creating digital art as well.
Artificial Inteligence
I have no experience in AI but my goal for the next few years is to get my degree in AI as I believe it's a crucial aspect to my future career.
